‘First 1000 Days’ prog reaches Zunheboto

Officials during the launching of ‘First 1000 Days’ under National Health Mission at Sumi Kukaki Hohoki, Zunheboto on May 30.

Zunheboto, May 30 (MExN): District Health Society Zunheboto launched the ‘First 1000 Days’ under National Health Mission at Sumi Kukaki Hohoki, Zunheboto by Rahul Bhanudas Mali (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto on May 30.

A DIPR report stated that speaking on the occasion the DC informed this programme focused on critical interventions like Antenatal Care (ANC), hospital delivery, vaccination and early childhood care for both mother and child from pregnancy till the second birthday of a child.

The DC Stated that for the successful implementation of this programme, it requires all-round assistance from the medical and allied departments, faith based organizations, civil societies, and NGOs.

Dr Heto Swu, DPO (UIP & RCH) Zunheboto gave a brief introduction to the First 1000 Days, importance of ANC and hospital delivery, and convergence of village health sanitation and nutrition day. Dr Kapfo, Obs & Gy, District Hospital (DH) Zunheboto spoke on the importance of ANC and hospital delivery and vaccination of children. Dr Ivikali MO, DH spoke on breastfeeding and early childhood development.

Nguvito, Coordinator PMVVY, Social Welfare Department gave a detailed presentation on PMVVY schemes and nutritional support during the first 1000 days. From NSRLM, Rural Development, Rebecca Achumi gave a detailed presentation on SBCC through SHG institutions. Convergence at Village health sanitation and nutrition was presented by Viketol Kintso, DCM.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr K Akaho Sema, Dy CMO Zunheboto with invocation by Rev Inakhu Sumi, Pastor ZTSBC. The programme was attended by representatives from social welfare department, NSRLM RD, medical officers, nurses from all health units, staff under CMO establishment, civil society organisation.
